As a young person, I believe that we need to keep the world’s largest fracked gas-to-methanol refinery from being built in our wonderful Washington in Kalama along the Columbia River. I love our state for its biodiversity, and am worried about the negative impacts that this refinery would have on our air and water quality. Also, renewable energy like solar and wind power create thousands of in-state jobs and many megawatts of state-generated electricity!
We’ve stopped projects like this methanol refinery before, and we can surely do it again. I respectfully call on Gov. Inslee and our state legislators to act on our shared values for clean air, clean water, and a stable climate. Lawmakers and citizens, let’s take a public stance against this methanol refinery! Thank you.
