Keep articles in proper sections

The Tuesday Associated Press article about the confirmation hearings for Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor, “What they said: Translating the code,” belonged on the Opinion page, not the Nation and World page. The article is nothing but the writer’s opinion.

Then in the Business Section, the headline is “We’re chilling out about our debt, new poll finds” and the article goes on to say that “Americans are feeling less stress from debt these days.”

Tell that to Bryan Hagan of Lake Stevens — I’m sure it will give him a good laugh as he goes about trying to find a job (Tuesday letter, “Lack of good jobs truly frustrating”).

This dreadful economic and unemployment mess is far from over. Obama’s spending and taxing will really begin to hit Americans by the end of this year and especially next year.

Sotomayor has been coached very carefully for weeks how to answer questions from the Senate Judiciary Committee. She is not believable, sitting there like a robot. Her past remarks are very clear as to how she really thinks. She is the wrong person to be entrusted as a Supreme Court justice.
