Regarding alcohol-related road deaths: I was just thinking back to when I was younger. I used to go into the tavern and a pack of cigarettes was 32 cents and a bottle of beer was 40 cents. The other day I ran out of my brand of cigarettes and bought a pack of Camel. That pack cost me over $11.
So my suggestion today is to put the same ratio of tax on alcohol as there is on cigarettes. In other words, an ounce of alcohol, no matter what it is in, should cost at least $12. I will then guarantee you that the alcohol related deaths on our highways will all but vanish.
