The food industry says we can expect higher food prices due to so much corn being diverted from the food chain to biofuel companies. What a ridiculous outrage! We should all be contacting our congressional representatives and demanding that all corn stays in the food chain. With so much hunger and unemployment, the last thing we need is higher food prices.
Corn belongs on our dinner tables, not in our fuel tanks! Most passenger vehicles on the road today are quite fuel-efficient and put out much less pollution. The need for such massive amounts of biofuel is dubious at best. If biofuels are that badly needed, there are other sources out there.
We also don’t need the higher fuel prices that have resulted from the required addition of ethanol, a biofuel, to most fuel grades. Use of biofuels should be voluntary, not mandatory. I smell politics and environmental despotism here!
