Kids, listen to an old lady’s advice

More people will disagree, than agree with me about this issue. It’s about smoking in a park. Isn’t the air free for everyone? If not, when did it stop being free? How can we say it’s a free country if we can’t do something outside?

I guess, since I have smoked for over 60 years, it bothers me. When I started smoking, to keep up with the clan I used to get so sick I wanted to die, but to be in the “in” group, I had to keep trying, otherwise I was nobody. Not one of the gang – “a nerd.” If I had known then what I know now, it would have been different. After 60 years it is very hard to change.

Kids, don’t let anyone talk you into smoking. It is bad for your health and also expensive. Hold your ground. Say no. If I hadn’t lived in the days of “Wine &Roses,” I wouldn’t be addicted today. Although I have been lucky, none of my health problems are from smoking. I guess I’m just one of the “lucky” ones.

Kids, take an old lady’s advice, if you don’t smoke now, don’t start. It is a filthy habit and you won’t be welcome anywhere. Take it from one who knows from experience – an old lady who is going through it.
