Thank you so much for the article on a quartet from the Seattle Symphony playing for the inmates at Washington State Reformatory. Mark Mulligan wrote a fine piece on the power of music.
However, it made me sad thinking of all the missed opportunities for hearing and playing music by our young people.
There has not been an orchestra at an Everett high school for over 25 years. How many lives might be different if our young people had the opportunity to play and hear orchestral music?
At one time orchestra was a very important part of Everett High School. Fifty years later many of my friends who played in it still play in an orchestra.
Our whole community would be richer if young people had an opportunity to play in an orchestra.
