Kiwanis puts on derby, with help

Regarding the article, “7 events to introduce kids to the fun of fishing”: The Everett Steelhead and Salmon Club is not the sponge of this fishing derby. This fishing derby was started by John Martinez when he was the president of the Marysville Kiwanis club with the Marysville city parks department. The Everett Steelhead and Salmon Club does help with event and has for several years. They supply some of the fish and fishing gear and help bait the hooks for the children and we are glad they are part of this event.
