A few weeks ago we were camping in a wooded area near Big 4 Mountain. A troop of Boy Scouts and their leaders from the Mukilteo area arrived and set up camp near us. After their set-up, they went off to hike to the Ashland Lakes area, arriving back at camp in the evening. The next day they departed.
After they had left, I went through their campsite expecting to see the usual bit of pop cans, gum wrappers, etc., and was extremely surprised and pleased to find that there was absolutely no indication that they had been there at all. I am certain that they followed the “leave it cleaner than it was when you arrived” philosophy.
I want to commend the scouts and their adult leaders. These youngsters are going to grow up to make a fine nucleus for our future.
