First let me start by saying that the Snohomish County Farm Bureau represents 1470 members in Snohomish County. The majority are small family farms that derive the majority of their income in other legal endeavors, most a 9-5 job that helps cover expenses so they can enjoy their right to farm. No 6 percent cost of living here.
And nowhere in 933 text does it say owners will be compensated for breaking any law as one letter to the editor would like to imply or. What it does say is a landowner be justly compensated for taking or damaging his legal use of his own land. For those who do make their living by farming, that land becomes invaluable to him and to you.
If you noticed a fast rise in grocery prices due to rising fuel prices, think again your decision on 933. Keeping agriculture “focused” in Snohomish County may be a lot more beneficial both environmentally as our county grows in population, “food wise” a 933 supports all of us, both city and rural owners.
