It disgusts me that Rep. Rick Larsen and Sen. Patty Murray have so little respect for existing law that they insist that certain acreage of the proposed Wild Sky Wilderness be included in the wilderness plan even though some of the land does not qualify for wilderness status according to current wilderness laws. They want Rep. Richard Pombo, R-Calif., chairman of the House Resources panel, to break the law to appease their special interest.
It baffles me how Rep. Larsen and Sen. Murray can be lawmakers and have so little respect for the essence of their own vocations. It must be that they are politicians first and lawmakers second. Rep. George Nethercutt’s draft abided by the law and should have been implemented.
