In The Herald’s editorial regarding a commission on government spending (“Congress can’t do it alone,” Jan. 29), I found it ironic that Rep. Rick Larsen is co-sponsoring a bill for this when he is himself a massive spender.
Larsen voted for TARP, stimulus, and the huge omnibus spending bill. I think Rep. Larsen sees that voters in our district are fed up with federal government spending on pet projects and is worried that he will not get re-elected. I want voters to remember the many spending bills that Rick Larsen voted on (in step with Speaker Pelosi) and his only remorse is after the Democrats lost the Senate seat formerly held by Ted Kennedy.
Rep. Larsen, you have waited too long to act as if you care about spending.
