So Bob Terwilliger, the county auditor, finds it “disconcerting” that the absentee ballots being mailed as third class bulk rate were “bumped” by the U.S. Postal Service? Gee, Mr. Terwilliger, where have you been living lately? So you wanted to cut in line and take shortcuts? I want my first class mail to be processed first since I paid more than your third class bulk rate.
If you wanted the ballots mailed in a timely fashion, hold your staff accountable to mail them early or better yet, have someone hold you accountable to get them to the Post Office sooner or pay the first class postage. This is why I am against using any sort of mail-in ballots and am in favor electronic voting. No late ballots being mailed out, not received, lost or not received back in the mail in time to be counted.
Wake up, Mr. Terwilliger, the Post Office is not Fed Ex.
