I really have to wonder what the majority of the leadership of Washington state — and apparently the voters, too — are failing to understand about the concepts of “live within your means” and “quit spending money you don’t have on things you don’t need.”
How much are we spending to support generations of people — born here or not — who just walk into any welfare office and get their hands filled with vouchers of various kinds for food, rent, education, housing and spending money, much of which goes for drugs and gambling? How much are we spending on “roundabouts” on every intersection that somebody is “inconvenienced” by a minute or two wait — at many million of dollars a each?
May I suggest the state does as the taxpayers do — if we don’t have the money, it doesn’t get bought. It’s pretty simple, and it works very well, especially in the long term.
