The recent national tragedy makes us all very aware of the importance of law and order and safety. To have an effective program you must have adequate funding for both the sheriff’s and prosecuting attorney’s departments. There are adequate dollars available in a nearly one half billion dollars annual county budget. It’s a matter of how you allocate the dollars. Presently there are 237 positions in the Snohomish County Planning Department and only 210 field operators (deputies) in the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Department. Why not transfer 50 positions to the law and order side putting more emphasis on safety and less on excessive regulations imposed by too many planners?
We need leadership who will make safety a priority. Jeff Sax is committed to make this happen.
