Although I have no proof of letter writer John Brandt’s political affiliation, his letter regarding the possible delay of the November election due to terrorist threats (“Bush better not think of delaying it,” Thursday) definitely shows the short attention span of the left.
As I recall from the numerous media reports on the subject, the possibility of delaying the election is something Congress was exploring on a contingency basis so there is a plan just in case something does happen. Mr. Brandt’s letter also tells us two other things: that the left continues to be unwilling to perform the work necessary to make our country safe and prepared, and that the left would rather put their collective heads in the sand and hope that our country’s problems and threats will just go away while they blame President Bush for all of it.
