Bad Grandpa: Disney’s “Frozen” has topped Barbie as the No. 1 girls’ toy this holiday season.
Parents can disregard one idea we tried: In the eyes of a toddler, an old Barbie locked in a block of ice does not count as a “Frozen” doll.

Didn’t know John Hancock wrote a book: Barnes &Noble is hoping to lure shoppers into its stores instead of shopping online by offering autographed copies of books, the kind with bound pages and a cover, but only in stores.
Not to be outdone, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos will order an employee to autograph any book with any author’s name, living or dead. (Offer available only to Amazon Prime members.)

Don’t know much about history: On this day in 1933, a New York judge ruled James Joyce’s “Ulysses” was not obscene.
The judge said there probably were some dirty parts in it, but the book was so long and so densely written no one would ever find them.
