Just when you think it can’t get any more absurd, it always seems to happen. Astonishingly, Snohomish County government has figured out a way to pay an extra $6 million in raises for county employees in this time of economic distress. But what struck me as a “what’s wrong with this picture” was the article on the county department of corrections looking for freebie help sewing new patches on their uniforms. Pardon me?
What’s wrong with each employee, you know, the ones who just got a raise and signing bonus, going out and having their own patches sewed on their own uniforms and pay for it out of their own pocket? Oh, but that only makes too much sense.
Once again, all I can do is shake my head in amazement.
