Here’s an idea about gun control:
The Herald has published several articles and opinions this week regarding gun control, including several political cartoons addressing the subject.
Here’s the idea: rather than a top-down approach — talking, writing and expecting the government (or Starbucks) to solve things; what if everyone who is passionate about gun control, went to their local pawn shop or sport shop, and purchased one (or several) of the least expensive guns for sale?
They then turn those weapons into a law enforcement agency, which disposes the weapons.
That works it from the bottom up. The easiest to obtain/cheapest weapons go out of circulation.
Expecting ever-tightening government rules for purchasing guns, as the availability of the product is constrained, the number of outlets will diminish, and the background check process will be easier to control/enforce.
Eventually — the activists buy and melt ‘em, as fast as the gun producers make ‘em.
Those that want gun control, are the control.
