In response to Willard Wilkins’ April 25 letter, “Electric scooters: Why don’t they follow road rules?”: I would like to say, thank you, Mr. Wilkins.
Too many kids are getting on these scooters and riding them dangerously. They need to be taught how to use them safely before someone gets killed or injured very seriously. It is great that the stores sell them, but please be responsible when using them. The scooters and all of the gas-powered and electric toys are fun, but kids tend to forget about the dangers around them when they are on the scooters. I know, I was a kid once myself. It is time for all of us parents to accept responsibility for our kids’ actions.
Maybe then we can keep this new hobby safe for all to enjoy.
