Wow. A superior court judge is quoted in the May 16 Herald article, “16 years and banishment” saying, “it underscores the danger of an armed society.” He was speaking of the shooting in Granite Falls by Kenneth Jensen. So much for unbiased and impartial decisions in George Bowden’s court.
One incident in densely populated Snohomish County and we hear the statement that all of society is dangerous because it’s armed. Judge Bowden goes on to say that the fact that the gun was there and readily available was the prime reason for the death.I’m not saying I condone the actions of Kenneth Jensen. Taking a man’s life under any circumstance should be investigated thoroughly. But let’s not go after the guns again.
I wouldn’t want to be in Judge Bowden’s court on a fire arm self defense charge. Judging from his comments, the trial would be far from fair.
