Why are we pulling the United States apart by arguing over what should have or could have been done on 9-11? We need to be concentrating on what we can do to protect our future.
I am sure mistakes were made, and we need to learn how to do better in the future. But why is the discussion made so public that, instead of feeling as if all is being done to protect us, we are now arguing over the past and a lot of us are feeling insecure again. How do terrorists win at what they do? By getting exactly what they want! They are still being allowed to win because not only do we have 9-11 to think about, we get to hear every day what went wrong. How many times do we let them win?
I would like to believe all is being done to protect us, but if there are problems, why can’t they learn from what mistakes were made and go forward? If I had lost someone on 9-11, the last thing I would want was someone saying, “If we would have done this, our loved ones would still be alive.” We lost so many people on 9-11 that you would think “United we stand divided we fall” would be on everyone’s mind.
It’s time we pull together and win our battle with the terrorists. We can not let them win! We are so much better than this!
