So the Snohomish County Conservation District has 13 members and is not an official county entity. Just 13 people who think they can get property owners to hand over to them $202,000 a year forever if they can just dupe us into thinking we need someone to tell the county where to let developers develop, like on their own property instead of ours?
This is probably Dave Somers’ idea to begin with. Politicians know how to put our money into their wallets.
At first glance of the front page Monday I thought, “$5 property tax would fund conservation work” would clean up the county. No, just dirty politics.
Wouldn’t it be nice if someone were to clean up the county? The road I live on has lost its rural beauty beneath litter. If someone would put up a security camera to catch and prosecute litterbugs I’d be willing to pay them $5. Better yet it could be paid from their $500 fine. Yes, there is a law that allows for fines up to $500 if you are caught littering.
Thank you for letting me “vent” like the state does.
