As airlines try to get permission to charge more for aisle and/or window seats, more families will find themselves in the situation an Everett family did with Alaska Airlines. (“Everett family puzzled by decision to boot boy off jet.”)
When you split up families with kids you will get more fussy kids.
I have a different idea for airlines to try: advertise for more money by offering quiet flights. No kids under a certain age. Maybe test this idea by offering one or two flights as a test. They can add more if the idea catches on.
Paying for aisle seating is going to create problems with more fussy kids than it’s worth.
I request an aisle seat — I had a blood clot in my leg and walking during a flight is recommended. On a recent flight there were three to five people walking a lot. One was for the same reason I was.
