On behalf of my family and myself I wish to express our deep appreciation to Herald reporter Scott North for his long commitment in trying to get people involved so the 1987 Everett Community College arson fire, which led to Gary Parks’ murder, will be solved. Scott North’s Feb. 17 article, “Good man gone” did provide some new leads, but there is still a lot of work which needs to be done.
I had high hopes that our law enforcement leaders and Snohomish County Prosecutor Jim Krider would have taken an interest in this unsolved murder case, but as of this date I have not heard a word from any investigators. Scott North is the only one I know of who is keeping this murder case in his active file. Although my family and I are extremely appreciative of Scott North’s time and effort, we know it will take more than his talent and interest to solve this arson case.
My family and I are reaching out to all of our professional investigators and civic leaders to become involved in this unsolved crime. We are reaching out to all of our community’s leaders to get together and take an active role in helping to solve this murder.
We victims are imploring all of our law enforcement agencies to get together to solve this murder case. We deserve to have our day in court. Please help all of Gary Parks’ loved ones to finally have our day of justice.
