Here’s a suggestion for the disappointed Archbishop Murphy football players and their coaches: separate your team into two squads and have them play each other. There’s no need at all for them to miss a game of football.
You could try it two ways and see which way makes your players happiest:
1. Divide the boys up, taking the biggest and best players for one squad and the also-rans for the other.
2. Divide the boys up as evenly as possible as to size and talent to form two relatively evenly matched squads.
I’d go out to watch the game if you chose option 2. I think it would be highly instructive for all of us.
