Congress
LaPointe needed for real change
Regarding the July 14 article, “Lengthy ballots in mail for Aug. 2 primary”: it would’ve been nice if The Herald elaborated a bit about key races, specifically, the 2nd Congressional District. Two Democrats are facing off against each other for the U.S. House election. One man stands for the people and the other stands for big business. One man is a cheerleader for the TPP (Trans Pacific Partnership) and the other is absolutely opposed to the TPP.
The man we should be voting for is Mike Lapointe. Unlike our current congressman, Mike won’t talk down to you or evade your questions. Mike is opposed to increasing shipments of coal and fracked oil through Everett and Marysville on its way to China to be burned. Our current congressman is a cheerleader for increased shipments of coal and oil to China. Our current congressman even set up a “China Working Group” which seeks to increase our trade deficit with China at the expense of American jobs and the environment.
Mike LaPointe has been endorsed by many Democratic organizations from all the way up in Ferndale to way down in Bothell and all over our district. Vote for Mike LaPointe for U.S. Congress.
