Will be watching the obit page tomorrow for the death of quality at the Everett Herald. Almost every day there are what polite company refers to as “typos” or incorrect grammar usage, wrong spellings, and other sins professional writers should know better than to commit. However, Tuesday’s headlines literally screamed incompetence. (“A ‘bright light’ dimmed to soon.”)
During my decades of teaching, the majority of my middle school students had mastered the art of to, too and two. There were those who still struggled with the difference between led and lead, but the majority had mastered that before they moved on to high school. Don’t know who is writing and/or editing the content of The Herald, but they need to be removed and sent back to school. So sad to see such a blatant display of ignorance and carelessness. The Herald should hang its head in shame and mourn the death of excellence in its publication.
