In response to the letter written by Ray Dorbolo, “How do we define a traitor” (Thursday):
I don’t support what Jane Fonda did in Vietnam 33 years ago, but before attempting to publish an opinion about her it is best to be factual and avoid spreading the continual lies written about her. For example, she did sit in an anti-aircraft gun in Hanoi as Dorbolo wrote, but she did not receive nor pass any information to the North Vietnamese.
A lie can be spread around the world in minutes but the truth can sometimes take years. Mr. Dorbolo owes Ms. Fonda a retraction and apology. The Herald is also at fault for allowing this misinformation be printed, and also owes Ms. Fonda an apology. For the facts, go to www.snopes.com/military/fonda.asp.
