It saddened me when Tim Eyman announced he had lied to the people of Washington state. I hope he will continue with his efforts to stand up for all of us “overtaxed” workers. After thinking it over, I don’t want to see him step down. He’s worked tremendously hard for us.
I know those of you who are dependent on us taxpayers have no sympathy for Tim Eyman, but for the rest of us hard-working individuals, many want Tim to continue with his ideas. How many of you would work full time for free? Now, I’m not condoning what he did. He should have told the truth, but let’s not crucify him like the liberals are doing now.
And speaking of the liberals, I didn’t see The Herald or any other major newspaper in Washington state print anything in bold regarding the lies of our “elected” officials. First, Maria Cantwell, throughout her senate campaign: she lied through her teeth. She told voters she was an independent thinker and would only user her money. Of course she didn’t fool me. However, she fooled many others. How about Gov. Gary Locke now? He promised throughout his campaign in 2000 that any tax increase will be sent to the voters to decide. Then suddenly, he backed off it and recommended a 9 cent a gallon gas tax increase.
And lastly, our pal Bill Clinton, hey, what can I say? He lied to all of us for eight years. And while he was having fun with Monica, our country was seriously being threatened by Osama Bin Laden. Yet Democrats in Washington D.C., including Patty Murray, kept telling us to allow Clinton to do his job for the people. Hey, we are the ones who are paying dearly for Clinton’s lies.
I guess we Republicans are held to a higher standard, if we “stumble.” There’s no mercy. Yet, liberals act like it’s OK or acceptable for them to stumble.
Tim, keep on rolling, your supporters are with you, and if you need additional help with your initiatives, I’m sure there will be even more people to step up to the plate to assist and support you.
