Looks like it’s time to write those pesky Democrat legislators again. They just can’t figure out how to stop taxing and spending. Once again they are after raising those driver’s license fees. You especially want to address your message to Sen. Mary Margaret Haugen, head of the Senate Transportation Committee, and also to Rep. Judy Clibborn, who chairs the House transportation panel.
One reason to raise those fees is to pay for the ferry system. Personally I think if one wants to live on one of the islands, those same people should be paying the ferry fees. No one is forcing them to live there. I know fuel prices are up, that’s why I have cut back my driving, and so too should the ferry system cut back. Perhaps it would work a hardship on those living in the islands, but it is a hardship for everyone. So long as the politicians in the other Washington keep getting us into more and more wars, while propping up dictators over there, we are going to pay the price.
Now that we have given the Democrats enough time to run our economy in both Washington state and Washington, D.C., into the ground, maybe it’s time for a real change. After running our country’s deficit to over $1 trillion and our debt to $14 trillion, don’t you think it’s time to give the other guys a chance? Vote the incumbents out and put in some new people with new ideas. After all, they couldn’t do much worse.
