Wow — that was a lot of snow. More than has fallen in this area — ever! It just kept coming — right in time for a white (and gift-delayed) Christmas. The nerve of all that snow!
With a weather event unmatched since the beginning of record-keeping, in an area that rarely accumulates more than 2 inches of snow, where said snow is almost always a memory in two days … why would you assume that the infrastructure for snow removal would be able to magically make it all go away? It kept coming, and those big main streets needed plowing again — so your cul-de-sac waited.
Spokane is ready for huge storms. They get a lot of snow every year, but this year is different (just like here!). Even in wintry Eastern Washington, they haven’t enough plows nor people to make it all go away. It just keeps snowing!
This series of snowstorms has been a huge challenge. However, it would be nice to be done with all of the “City/County owes me an explanation” and “I still can’t get my mail” and “My garbage is piling up” (admittedly this last is yucky here, too). This just might be one of those “nobody to blame” times. There’s no one to sue or fire over this. There really is no one who wants to keep hearing about your anger or disappointment. Mother Nature remains unlisted.
