Regarding the May 19 article, “PUD chief rewarded with bonuses on top of $337,000 salary“:
I don’t know how others may feel, but I don’t really think telling me or the public that the PUD general manager’s salary of $337,00 plus bonuses is front page news. I don’t need to see it or hear it.
I, too, have a job which I am told is important, and what a good job I do. He makes $300,000 more than I do. Something smells funny here. I watched the Senate drill the oil executives and they didn’t bat an eye saying they deserved every penny. These large salaries are a joke. We have at least one in 10 people unemployed and I’ve heard a huge number of people on welfare and food stamps. I can’t understand how The Herald editors would make this front page material. I shake my head. Apparently they are more deserving than me.
