Lives of others will be put at risk

While I and other Americans lacking in influence were shipped off to Vietnam, President Bush’s family connections maneuvered him into the Texas Air National Guard, far from battle. Vice President Dick Cheney never served in the military at all. They played it safe.

Now the administration hungers for war. Bush and Cheney have not experienced what they are requiring of our troops, so they don’t know what they are asking. It is easy to be brave when it is someone else’s life you are risking.
