Local historians of black migration also heroines

Thank you Sara Bruestle, for the beautifully written article, “Hidden History” in Monday’s Herald. (“Descendants of black Snohomish County citizens uncover history.”) All of the profiles were fascinating, but Mary Jane Green especially touched my heart. The misery and horror that she lived through, instead of breeding bitterness, made her a strong, giving and beautiful woman; I only wish I had known her. A special and heartfelt thank you to Marian Harrison and Marilyn Quincy for researching and presenting these stories; you are not only historians, you are heroines. Shine on and may God bless you.
