Regarding the immigration law in Arizona:
While traveling in Venezuela, in the frontier bordering Colombia, my friend and I were stopped by the National Guard. If my friend, a Venezuelan, could not have produced his CID (citizen identification document) and I could not produce my passport, we would have been held in a local jail until we could prove who we were.
This law in Arizona is long overdue. Indeed, a CID is long overdue in the United States.
Sorry, folks. If you cannot prove who you are, you need to be detained. And if you are illegal, you need to be sent back.
