I suppose if you want to jump in the lake, run and bike at 6:30 in the morning of a day the temperature is predicted to be in the high 90s, that’s your call. But when the guy on the PA system is echoing through the trees at 6:30 a.m. all the way at the south end of the lake, it’s time to call a halt! It happened last year, too!
Maybe the Ironman event coordinators would like me to pop over to their house some quiet Sunday morning and fire up my lawn mower or weed whacker under their bedroom window! Unless I’m mistaken, the county has a code that covers such annoying matters at 6:30 a.m. If you have any questions look up Noise Control, Chapter 10.01 and yes, sleep is in there. If you look further down the page you’ll find the “offender” can be fined up to $50 and if it happens again within a year, it goes up. If you’re intent on screwing up my sleep, be ready to pay up.
