John Lovick is rightly proud of his distinguished career with the Washington State Patrol. There he learned all the skills every law enforcement officer needs: from decisive crisis management to what it takes to stand alone against danger. He has that in common with the sheriffs of Skagit, Kittitas, Island and Kitsap counties.
His opponent in the sheriff’s race says that is not enough. He insists the sheriff must know every small detail of forensics, technology and finance. Greene says that he would be like a corporate CEO, even while what he describes sounds like an administrative staff position.
John Lovick learned the real skills of a CEO as Speaker Pro Tem of our House of Representatives. He knows how to inspire others to leadership. He knows how to listen and draft a plan that works for all. He knows how to implement change and measure success. Many legislators take those skills to industry. John would bring them to the Sheriff’s office.
John knows something else his opponent seems to miss. The sheriff is not just the boss of accountants and technicians; the sheriff manages heroes. Give deputies and the citizens of Snohomish what they deserve. Vote for John Lovick.
