Regarding the Friday article, “Split Supreme Court protects campaign lies as free speech”:
I have two comments about the story on politicians who went to court to fight for the right to lie during campaigns. First, I would like those lying politicians to know that I will be equally dishonest when I say I’ll vote for them. Even though I don’t have to go to the polls to vote any more, I don’t see that it’s worth the effort to even fill out the ballot and walk to the mailbox if the politicians are blatantly lying to me.
Also, I saw a picture on www.strangecosmos.com that showed a truck with the vanity plate “poopumpr”. It was obviously used to pump out sewage. On the back of the truck was a sign saying, “Caution: May contain political campaign promises.” No doubt.
