Majority leader ‘skirting’ issue

I read with interest the article reporting that Senate Majority Leader Jim West, a Republican, has blocked a bill by Rep. Pat Lantz, a Democrat. The Lantz bill was unanimously passed by the House and would make it a crime to photograph up women’s skirts in public places. Sen. West’s reason for blocking the bill is to force Rep. Lantz to vote for a cap on medical malpractice cases.

I am unsure if Sen. West’s actions would be considered blackmail or party politics. Whatever you choose to call it, the people of the state will pay the price.
