I agree with Tim Eyman that the gay civil rights bill should be put to a vote by the people. Simply because our government is “of the people, by the people and for the people.” I don’t like lawmakers taking the law into their own hands and making the decisions for us. Too much of this has been happening lately – i.e., taking land from a private citizen and giving it to a corporation, judges overturning the majority vote of citizens in their own state.
I believe the will of the majority should prevail. If a citizen fails to avail himself of the information and fails to vote, then he must suffer the consequences if the vote goes against his wishes. But, at least he had an opportunity to voice his opinion and affect the outcome. It’s called freedom!
