I am becoming so weary from reading and hearing how sad it is to put all these pets down.
I have been to the dog rescue in Everett four times to adopt in the last year, only to be told “put your name in the hat” as others also chose the same dog I liked. One time in particular, I went there four days to walk and play with the dog only to be told “come back Saturday for the drawing.”
Why not let the first person who wants the dog have it after the needed quarantine, then the next person would just choose another dog – is this plan too simple?
Please stop printing all these articles crying for help when it is not as simple as you lead the public to believe.
Example: Go to a garage sale – see a chair for $40 – the seller says someone else might like it – so put your name in a jar and return at 4 p.m. for a drawing to see if you get the chair – makes as much sense as the program they have going at the shelter.
