I received a “poll” phone call on June 23. In my opinion, it was nasty, distorted and untruthful regarding Sen. Jean Berkey. Statements were made that I know were totally without factual support.
When I asked who was paying for this “poll,” I was told that the caller (from Oregon) did not know. When I insisted — the person hung up. If this is representative of the type of support that Nick Harper is receiving, then I know I could never support him.
Yes, I know Jean and respect her as a person and a senator, and I believe that the type of campaign a candidate runs defines that person. If you receive a “poll” call and the caller refuses to identify the sponsors, I suggest that you ask who is paying for it and where the poll is coming from. Listen carefully and then decide if their “good guy” really deserves your support.
