The world has many thousands of years of “legal and moral precedence” in every nation on this planet that universally defines marriage as a committed union between a man and woman. It is not a mere “tradition.” It is the very foundation of civilization.
Sex is there for the renewal of life itself. It’s not there for fun and games, self-expression or statements about who anybody is.
I understand emotional needs and I can see how a “biological imbalance” before birth or abuse as a child can alter one’s attractions, but we cannot change something as important as the foundation of civilization to accommodate a vast minority.
How should we best judge the difference between right and wrong? I have to say if something is “right” it promotes good health and longevity. If it’s not “right” it promotes the opposite. Example? According to medical science, the life expectancy for active homosexuals is roughly 20 years less than the national average. It’s a medical no-brainer. Doing things that the body is not designed to do causes diseases and infections at uncommon levels. Therefore a shorter life span.
The March 18 editorial degrading the Defense of Marriage Act said that Americans are now less conservative on issues like gay marriage, legalizing marijuana and abortion. But it left out one other crowning liberal achievement from a Jan. 22 article on page A3 that discussed a second grade class in Oakland, Calif., where elementary school children were doing “oral sex” in class!
Not to worry, however, as no one was accused of “wrongdoing.” Phewww! What a relief. Wouldn’t it be sad if these kids were taught the difference between right and wrong. Welcome to the bottom of the slippery slope.
