I generally support Democratic candidates, but this year I am making an exception and supporting Gary Nelson for Snohomish County Council. There are many reasons to support Gary, but the primary reason I’m breaking with my usual political direction is that Gary Nelson brings moderate and balanced leadership to the county council when we need it – and we need it now. We will soon have a new county executive and we do not need a new and inexperienced council member as well.
Gary Nelson is as much a part of our community as the ferry dock in Edmonds. He’s been serving the citizens of South Snohomish County for a generation and doing a great job . He watches over our tax dollars to avoid waste and, at the same time, knows when spending money will move our county forward. One only needs to look at his regional leadership in transportation issues to know that. As council president, his maturity and judgment have kept the council on track and moving in a positive direction.
Democrats can feel comfortable supporting Gary Nelson. His honest, middle-of-the-road, experienced stewardship of the county council is helping us all.
