The Zonta Club of Everett is a visible service organization recognized for its advocacy and leadership in actively improving the status of women locally and globally. Our club celebrated its 80th birthday in May 2009, which commemorates a long history in service to our community, as well as internationally.
In the fall of 2009 we held our annual fundraising auction, “Pirates’ Plunder.” With this event and others, we were able to provide money to selected programs of various Snohomish County agencies, which meet our mission statement goal of “Advancing the status of women worldwide.” The auction is our primary fundraiser, and we are grateful for the support from the community, which made it successful.
Included in the collaborative effort were members, volunteers, corporate sponsors, individual donors (including those who provided goods and services), and participants on auction night. We thank you all.
Area agencies who will benefit from these efforts this year are: Deaconess Children’s Services, Housing Hope, Everett Gospel Mission, Pacific Treatment Alternatives, Monroe Gospel Women’s Mission, Village Community Services, Interfaith, Providence Hospice and Home Care of Snohomish County, YWCA, and Volunteers of America. We commend and congratulate them all.
Representatives of the above agencies will receive their funding at the Zonta program meeting and luncheon at noon Feb. 18 at the Everett Golf and Country Club. Guests are welcome with a reservation made in advance. For further information go to www.zontaeverett.org or call 425-348-3501.
