Regarding the guest commentary in the July 30 Herald, “Marijuana shops not a good fit for Snohomish” by Susan Bjorling (who is chair of the “con” committee in the voter’s pamphlet against the proposition lifting the ban on legal medical and retail cannabis in Snohomish city):
It is obvious from Ms. Bjorling’s commentary that her group is anti-free market, anti-competition, anti-economic development, anti-jobs, and anti-property rights. Her support for the Bud Hut to be a monopoly for the whole greater Snohomish area (including Snohomish city) between Clearview and Lake Stevens is promoting “unfair competition,” a “prior restraint of trade” and is just plain un-American.
Vote yes for legal medical and retail cannabis in Snohomish for the sake of economic fairness and personal liberty. After all, 55 percent of city voters voted for legal cannabis in 2012.
