As voters, we need more information about our candidates for city council. To that end, I want to share what I know about Mark Olson.
Mark has served on the Everett Public Schools Foundation board of directors for over five years. In that capacity, he helped our organization grow by promoting parent and community awareness, raising necessary funds to benefit our educators and students, and building partnerships with other organizations.
Building partnerships, to me, is a critical point. Anyone can be a talking head. But Mark is able to express his ideas, listen to others and build consensus among different constituent groups. He really listens and then is able to conceptualize a course of action that addresses everyone’s concerns and brings people of differing opinions together.
Mark is an active parent at Jackson Elementary School. He is also a supporter of our parks. He worked on building the Greater Everett Community Foundation to secure the future for what makes our city so livable, the abundant parks and high quality libraries. Mark is a “win-win” kind of person. I know he will work hard to make sure we are all represented.
