One thing I’d like my neighbors to know is the importance getting the covid-19 vaccination.
This is an issue that is near and dear to my heart. Last year, my family and extend family went through unimaginable pain. Nine people in my family passed away because of covid-19.
The heartbreak of each loss of was unbearable and incomprehensible.
I want to advocate for everyone in our community to vaccinate to protect ourselves and our loved ones. I’m a servant of my community. I’ve been the director of Mari’s Place for the Arts. It is a non-profit organization that provides art classes to children of diverse financial and ethnic backgrounds. We provide an opportunity for children to develop their creativity and leadership.
I feel the responsibility to help the community through forming alliances with other organizations that also care for the community. One of our big partners is ABC Law Group in Everett. In May we held a pop-up vaccination clinic at its parking lot.
We’ve all been witness to the devastation and pain brought on by this pandemic and some more vulnerable communities have been hit harder than others. With the new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, we can vaccinate children 12 and up so let’s roll up our sleeves and defeat covid and get our community back together!
