I offer this suggestion for those stores mentioned in the letters who ignore social distancing, masks, etc., to keep others safe and indirectly themselves. Perhaps a citizen group of consumers could develop a sign or placard or some means to display a skull and crossbones with statement: “Poison: this place does not comply, go in at your own risk!”
Might help keep us safe, change store policy, and in general stand in solidarity without use of police, government or any force. Maybe the profit motive could help out here. We must return to work while medicine works to destroy the virus, but in the meantime, we must be brave people, not fools.
