Why would anyone vote for Mike McGavick? He has no interest in the citizenry. He is simply a self-promoter who promised Safeco Insurance certain favors if they would buy him a political career. He is not an insurance man. Before working at Safeco he was without insurance experience, which would make us all wonder why he is worth $28 million severance pay for short-term employment.
Not only did he fire thousands of very experienced employees, but he outsourced hundreds of other jobs. Worst of all, he canceled promised benefits for all retirees even though these benefits had been promised to them at the time of hiring. Even the employee handbook states that if the employee meets certain criteria, that employee is eligible for the benefits “until the date of his or her death.”
Mr. McGavick’s commercials are half-truths or outright lies. I don’t want my senator to be in the pocket of the insurance companies, and I don’t want another liar in government. He didn’t save Safeco – Safeco bought him for his hatchet-man abilities. He cares only about himself, not you and me.
